Before Season 1 Age 0
A son, Rhaegar was born to the Mad King Aerys Targaryen and Rhaella Targaryen.
Before Season 1 Age 18
Rhaegar’s brother Viserys was born to Aerys Targaryen and Rhaella Targaryen.
Before Season 1 Age 18
Rhaegar married Elia Martell of Dorne.
Before Season 1 Age 20
A daughter, Rhaenys, was born to Rhaegar Targaryen and Elia of Dorne.
Before Season 1 Age 21
A son, Aegon, was born to Rhaegar Targaryen and Elia of Dorne.
Before Season 1 Age 21
Rhaegar attended the Tourney at Harrenhal. After defeating Ser Barristan Selmy, he shocked those present by crowning Lyanna Stark Queen of Love and Beauty rather than his wife Elia of Dorne.
Before Season 1 Age 22
Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark disappeared. The Starks and Robert Baratheon believed Rhaegar had abducted her.
Before Season 1 Age 22
Lyanna’s brother Brandon rode to Kings Landing to demand the return of his sister but he was imprisoned instead. Outraged Brandon’s father Rickard went to King’s Landing but was imprisoned and shortly after wards burnt alive with wildfire. Brandon was strangled.
Before Season 1 Age 22
Lyanna’s brother Eddard teamed up with Lyanna’s betrothed, Robert Baratheon, to overthrow the Targaryens in an event known as Robert’s Rebellion.
Before Season 1 Age 22
Rhaegar had his marriage to Elia of Dorne annulled by High Septon Maynard.
Before Season 1 Age 22
Rhaegar was secretly married to Lyanna Stark in Dorne.
Before Season 1 Age 23
Rhaegar was killed fighting at the Battle of the Trident
Before Season 1 Dead
Rhaegar’s son was born to Lyanna Stark at the Tower of Joy. Lyanna died shortly afterwards from complications during the birth. The child was placed in the care of Lyanna’s brother, Ned Stark, who promised to keep the child’s identity a secret by passing him off as his bastard, Jon Snow.
