Justin Bieber was born Justin Drew Bieber to Pattie Mallette and Jeremy Bieber in London, Ontario, Canada. Justin’s parents were not married and they split up shortly after his birth.
1994 (onwards)
Bieber’s maternal grandparents helped to raise him.
1996 (around)
Justin first showed an interest in music and his mother encouraged him to sing and learn to play musical instruments.
1998 (Autumn)
Justin began his education at the Jean Sauve Catholic School in Stratford, Ontario.
2006 (Autumn)
Justin attended the St Michael Catholic Secondary School.
2007 (during)
Justin Bieber entered a local talent competition and sang ‘So Sick’ by Ne-Yo. He came second in the competition.

Bieber’s mother uploaded his talent competition performance to YouTube. She uploaded future performances to the same channel and over the next few years Justin developed a huge online profile. His followers called themselves ‘Beliebers’.

Justin’s father began a relationship with Erin Wagner. They went on to have two children Jazmyn and Jaxon, Justin’s half-siblings.
2008 (during)
The music executive, Scooter Braun, stumbled across Bieber’s YouTube channel and traccked him down. Scooter convinced Justin’s mother to let him record a demo. The demo was heard by singer Usher (Raymond) and he and Braun signed Bieber to their Raymond Braun Media Group.
2008 (October)
Usher was instrumental in getting Bieber a signing with Island Records.
2009 (18th May)
Justin Bieber released his first single ‘One Time’. It reached number 11 in the UK, number 12 in Canada and number 17 in the US charts.
2009 (6th October)
The single ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ was released. It reached number 10 in Canada and number 16 in the US Charts.
2009 (17th November)
Justin Bieber released the EP ‘My World’. It reached number 1 in Canada, number 3 in the UK and number 5 in the US Charts.
2009 (late)
Bieber appeared on a number of television shows including the ‘Today Show’, ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.

Bieber performed at the White House in front of Barack and Michelle Obama.
2010 (during)
Bieber signed a sponsorship deal with Proactiv.
2010 (during)
Nicole by OPI partnered with Justin Bieber to launch ‘the One Less Lonely Girl Collection’ of nail polish.
2010 (18th January)
Justin Bieber released the single ‘Baby’. It reached number 3 in Canada, number 3 in the UK and number 5 in the US Charts.
2010 (12th February)
Justin Bieber featured on the single ‘We Are The World 25 for Haiti’ a charity single. It reached number 7 in Canada, number 50 in the UK and number 2 in the US Charts.
2010 (12th March)
Justin Bieber featured on the single ‘Waving Flag’ a charity single by Young Artists for Haiti. It reached number 1 in Canada.
2010 (19th March)
The album ‘My World 2.0’ was released. It reached number 1 in Canada, number 2 in the UK and number 1 in the US Charts.

Bieber released the single ‘Eenie Meenie’. It reached number 14 in Canada, number 9 in the UK and number 15 in the US Charts.
2010 (20th April)
The single ‘Somebody to Love’ was released. It reached number 10 in Canada, number 33 in the UK and number 15 in the US Charts.
2010 (8th June)
Bieber released the single ‘Never Say Never’ which featured Jaden Smith. It reached number 11 in Canada, number 34 in the UK and number 8 in the US Charts.

The ‘My World’ tour began. Over 18 months Bieber would play 127 concerts.

Justin Bieber released the single ‘U Smile’. It reached number 17 in Canada and number 27 in the US Charts.

The compilation album ‘My Worlds The Collection’ was released.
