Prince George of Cambridge was born to Prince William
and Catherine Middleton
, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, at 4.24 pm in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, London. His birth was marked throughout the Commonwealth countries. He is third in line to the throne after his father, William and grandfather, Charles
2013 (24th July)
It was officially announced that the new baby was named George Alexander Louis and would be officially known as Prince George of Cambridge.
George’s father, Prince William ended his military service with the RAF Search and Rescue Service to spend more time on royal commitments and charity work.
2013 (23rd October)
Prince George was christened in the Chapel Royal of St James’s Palace by the Archbishop of Canterbury
, Justin Welby. His godparents are Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Hugh Richard Louis Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel, William van Cutsem and Zara Tindall.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia. They took Prince George with them and he made two public appearances.
2014 (8th June)
Prince George first appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as part of celebrations to mark the 93rd birthday of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II
2015 (2nd May)
George’s sister, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana
was born to William and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, London. Later in the day, George was brought to the hospital by his father to meet his new sister.
2015 (5th July)
Princess Charlotte was christened at St Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
2016 (6th January)
Prince George began attending the Westacre Montessori School Nursery near his home at Anmer Hall, Norfolk.
The Cambridge family enjoyed a short holiday together in the French Alps.
2016 (7th September)
George began primary school at Thomas’s School, Battersea.
George and his sister, Charlotte accompanied their parents when they made an official tour of Canada.
George and Charlotte accompanied their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on an official visit to Poland.
2018 (23rd April)
George’s brother, Louis Arthur Charles
was born to William and Kate at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, London. He and his sister visited the hospital later in the day to meet their new brother.
2018 (19th May)
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were page boy and bridesmaid at the wedding of Prince Harry
and Meghan Markle
at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
2018 (9th July)
Prince Louis Arthur Charles was christened at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.
2018 (12th October)
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were page boy and bridesmaid at the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel Windsor.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were filmed playing in the Royal Horticultural Society Back to Nature Garden which had been designed by their mother.
2020 (18th March)
It was announced that Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be homeschooled during the coronavirus outbreak.
Prince George returned to Thomas’s School, Battersea.
The royal children attended a special pantomime for key workers at the London Palladium.
2022 (2nd June)
A four-day programme of events to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee began with the Trooping of the Colour. Prince George attended three events and was seen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with other members of the royal family.
