This timeline gives a chronological listing of the main events in the life of the fictitious character Ramsay Bolton as shown in the TV series Game of Thrones

Ramsay Bolton’s age is not explicitly mentioned in either the series or the books. During the TV show, Bran refers to him as a young man. We have therefore given his age as 24 at the time of his death.

Before Season 1 Age 0
Ramsay Bolton was born to a miller’s wife. The woman had been raped by Roose Bolton. He was named Ramsay Snow because he was a bastard.
Before Season 1 Age 0
Roose Bolton acknowledged Ramsay after seeing he had the same eyes but left him in the care of his mother. He was named Ramsay Snow because he was a bastard.
Before Season 1 Teenage years
Ramsay was difficult to control and had developed a sadistic streak. He believed himself to be a true Bolton and adopted the Bolton custom of flaying his enemies.
Before Season 1 Late Teens
Roose Bolton brought Ramsay to live with him at the Dreadfort.
Season 1 Age 19
When Robb Stark called out the family bannermen in response to Ned Stark’s imprisonment, Roose Bolton took a force to join him. Ramsay Bolton was left to hold the Dreadfort.
Season 2 Age 20
Robb Stark was furious when he learnt that he had been betrayed by Theon Greyjoy. He agreed to Roose Bolton’s suggestion that Ramsay Bolton retake Winterfell. Robb Stark insisted that his brothers Bran and Rickon be brought out alive and that Theon be brought to him for execution.
Season 2 Age 20
Ramsay Bolton reached Winterfell. He killed Theon’s iron born men and took Theon prisoner before leaving Winterfell in ruins.
Season 3 Age 21
Ramsay Bolton did not take Theon Greyjoy to Robb Stark as promised but instead imprisoned him at the Dreadfort and had him systematically tortured.
Season 3 Age 21
Ramsay Bolton posed as a friend to Theon and freed him. He told Theon that his sister was waiting for him in the East. Soon afterwards, Theon was pursued by men on horseback and was captured. He was then ‘rescued’ by Ramsay Bolton who killed his captors. Theon was dismayed when he realised that he had not been rescued but returned to his cell.
Season 3 Age 21
Ramsay Bolton began systematically torturing Theon himself. He re-named him Reek.
Season 3 Age 21
Theon Greyjoy allowed himself to be seduced by Ramsay’s lovers, Myranda and Violet. He was then discovered by Ramsay Bolton who ordered him restrained before castrating him.
Season 4 Age 22
Ramsay had succeeded in wearing Theon (Reek) down by torture and he now willingly served Ramsay Bolton.
Season 4 Age 22
Roose Bolton arrived at the Dreadfort with his new wife, Walda Frey.
Season 4 Age 22
Roose Bolton was angry with Ramsay for mutilating a valuable hostage. He was less angry when it was revealed that the Stark boys had not been murdered and were possibly at Castle Black. Bolton immediately sent Locke to Castle Black to kill the Stark boys and Jon Snow.
Season 4 Age 22
Roose Bolton told Ramsay that if he took Moat Cailin from the Greyjoys he might give him a better position.
Season 4 Age 22
Yara Greyjoy arrived to free Theon. She was very shocked at the change in her brother. Theon feared it was another trick by Ramsay and refused to leave. Yara realised she could not rescue her brother and left.
Season 4 Age 22
Ramsay told Reek that he was to help him gain control of Moat Cailin. As instructed Reek, posing as Theon Greyjoy, approached the castle door and gained entry. He told the iron born men inside that if they surrendered the castle they could go free. After submitting, Ramsay Bolton entered and massacred them.
Season 4 Age 22
As a reward for taking Moat Cailin, Ramsay is legitimised by his father. This allows him to use the name Bolton.
Season 5 Age 23
The Boltons had been made Wardens of the North and now lived in Winterfell. Roose told Ramsay that he was to marry Sansa Stark to give them more control in the North.
Season 5 Age 23
Ramsay Bolton told Reek that he would walk Sansa down the aisle and give her away.
Season 5 Age 23
Ramsay was furious to discover that his father’s new wife was pregnant with a boy child. He saw the child as a threat to his position as his father’s heir.
Season 5 Age 23
After Ramsay Bolton married Sansa Stark, Theon escorted them to their room. Ramsay then ordered Theon to watch as he brutally raped Sansa.
Season 5 Age 23
Ramsay was angry when he learned of Sansa’s plan to escape. He had found out because Reek had revealed Sansa’s plan to place a candle in the Tower window as a signal to Brienne of Tarth. As a punishment, Ramsay flayed Sansa’s elderly maid.
Season 5 Age 23
Ramsay and his father learned that Stannis Baratheon was approaching Winterfell. Ramsay asked for twenty men to infiltrate Stannis’s camp in order to weaken him.
Season 5 Age 23
Ramsay Bolton went to the camp of Stannis Baratheon and set light to a number of tents. He then returned to Winterfell. The fire killed many men and depleted resources.
Season 5 Age 23
Although weakened, Stannis continued his assault on Winterfell. Ramsay Bolton led a counter-attack and slaughtered Stannis’s men.
Season 5 Age 23
After the battle Ramsay returned to Winterfell where he discovered his lover Myranda had been killed and Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy had escaped.
Season 6 Age 24
Roose Bolton was pleased that Ramsay had defeated Stannis, but angry that Sansa and Theon had escaped. He told Ramsay that if Sansa escaped he would disinherit Ramsay and make his unborn son his heir.
Season 6 Age 24
Ramsay Bolton sent men to find Sansa and Theon and bring them back to Winterfell.
Season 6 Age 24
Ramsay was furthered angered when Harald Karstark brought the news that Sansa and Theon had disappeared.
Season 6 Age 24
Maester Wolkan told Roose and Ramsay that Walda had been delivered of a baby boy. Ramsay became agitated and killed his father by stabbing him in the chest.
Season 6 Age 24
Ramsay ordered Wolkan to bring Walda and her child to him. Ramsay then took them to the kennels and fed them to his dogs.
Season 6 Age 24
Smalljon Umber wanted Ramsay’s support against Jon Snow and the wildlings. Ramsay refused at first until Umber presented him with Osha and Rickon Stark.
Season 6 (age 24)
Ramsay was not impressed with Osha’s attempt to persuade him that she was not loyal to the Starks. When she tried to seduce him he stabbed her in the neck and left her to bleed to death.
Season 6 (age 24)
Ramsay Bolton sent a message to Jon Snow demanding that he return Sansa to Winterfell or he would kill all the wildlings and Rickon Stark.
Season 6 Age 24
The two sides met to try to find a peaceful solution. Ramsay agreed to call off the battle if Jon would bend the knee to him and return Sansa. Jon refused and suggested that he and Ramsay fight in single combat. Ramsay Bolton refused this option saying that Jon would likely win, but he knew his army could defeat Jon’s army. With no solution the battle was set for the following day.
Season 6 Age 24
The Battle of the Bastards
Before the battle began, Ramsay Bolton released Rickon Stark and told him to run to Jon Snow. As he neared the Stark side, Ramsay began firing arrows.
This prompted Jon Snow to ride to rescue Rickon. As Jon reached Rickon, Ramsay Bolton killed Rickon by shooting an arrow through his body.
With Jon Snow isolated in the middle of the battlefield, Ramsay ordered his men to circle the opposing army. He then ordered them to push in and pick them off.
Ramsay Bolton was dismayed and furious when Sansa Stark arrived with Petyr Baelish at the head of an Arryn army. He retreated to Winterfell but the giant Wun Wun broke down the gates. Jon Snow then attacked Ramsay and eventually knocked him to the ground. He ordered him locked in the kennels.
Season 6 Age 24
Sansa Stark visited Ramsay Bolton in the kennels. She opened a gate releasing Ramsay’s hounds. Ramsay believed they would not harm him but they attacked and killed him.
