Taylor Swift was born Taylor Alison Swift to Scott Kingsley Swift and Andrea Gardner Swift nee Finlay in Reading, Pennsylvania. Taylor was named after James Taylor.
1992 (11th March)
Taylor’s brother, Austin Kingsley Swift, was born to Scott Kingsley Swift and Andrea Gardner Swift.
1994 (around)
Taylor began her education at the Alvernia Montessori School.
1997 (around)
Taylor entered The Wyndcroft School, Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
1997 (during)
Taylor Swift joined the Berks Youth Theatre Academy productions and starred in four productions. She also had acting lessons and vocal coaching.
2000 (during)
Taylor had developed an interest in country music and went, with her mother, to Nashville. They took a demo tape of Taylor singing hoping that one of the record labels would sign her up but they didn’t.

Taylor learned to play the guitar and began writing songs.

Taylor attended Wyomissing Area High School.

New York music manager Dan Dymtrow helped Swift get some acting and singing contracts.

The Swift family moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee. The move was made so that Taylor would be close to Nashville, the centre of country music.

Taylor attended Hendersonville High School. She met with Liz Rose for songwriting sessions every Tuesday, after school.

Taylor was gaining more exposure and had become a popular singer. She left Hendersonville High School and became home-schooled.

Swift complained to KYGO-FM bosses that she had been sexually assaulted by David Mueller, a radio show personality. Mueller was fired and later sued Swift for lying and loss of earnings. Taylor Swift later counter-sued Mueller for sexual assault and won the case.

Taylor complained to Apple music that artists did not receive royalties during users’ free trial period. She threatened to remove ‘1989’from their service. Apple very quickly backtracked and stated that artists would be paid royalties during the free trial period of users.

Taylor Swift released the single ‘Wildest Dreams. It reached number 40 in the UK and number 5 in the US.

The single ‘Out of the Woods’ was released. It reached number 18 in the US charts.
2016 (15th February)
Swifts album ‘1989’ won Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video (Bad Blood).
